O2 sensor

Drove the car to a Firestone to get the lifetime alignment, but on the way she started running really rich and poorly. Limped it there and asked them to do and alignment and to do an inspection. Even told them it seemed like the o2 sensor was giving bad info. They said their alignment tech would be back Thursday (this was Tuesday) and they would work on it then. So I left the car there and went home. Mid day Thursday comes around and I miss a call from them and listen to the voice mail. They say the car is too low to go on the alignment rack (bs I saw the rack and it would easily go on) and that since the car was OBD1, they wouldn’t scan it for code..... YES I KNOW, that wasn’t what I asked you to do, but fine, you don’t want my money I’ll figure it out and take it somewhere else.

Got it up in the air today and found my passenger o2 sensor was basically bare and the wires were all shorting on each other. No wonder the ECU was dumping in fuel, it was probably very confused. New connector should fix this.

And then to a good alignment shop and she should be good to go (fingers crossed).

Well maybe we like to be stressed out over repairs and then guilty over deciding to sell anything!

If you have a car, you’re gonna have car problems. That doesn’t mean you have to have shop problems. Find a good one and stick by them.
